Ruggero Gabbai’s definitive documentary gathers the testimony of 90 Italian Jews who survived imprisonment in Auschwitz. The film effortlessly weaves together compelling interviews about the rise of fascism in Italy, the Racial Laws passed in 1938, and the Italian experience of the camps. Memoria was coproduced by Gabbai and the Fondazione Centro di Documentazione Ebraica Contemporanea [CDEC] of Milan, an independent institute for Italian Jewish history and culture.
