Kristallnacht: An Evening of Remembrance

Monday, November 10, 2008
6:30 pm
Holocaust Center of Northern California
121 Steuart Street, San Francisco

November 9, 1938 marked a turning point in the history of the Holocaust. On this night, the Nazis carried out state sanctioned, anti-Jewish riots throughout Germany. As fire and police brigades stood by, the homes, synagogues, businesses, community centers, and cemeteries of German-Jews were plundered and destroyed. The Nazi campaign against German Jews escalated from persecution and isolation to acts of violence and terror.

In commemoration of the 70th anniversary of this event, Anne Marie, a member of the Holocaust Center’s Survivors Speakers Bureau, will share her memories of this night, and the gripping documentary More Than Broken Glass: Memories of Kristallnacht will be shown.

Co-sponsored by the Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC).
