Multiply by Six Million
A Talk and DVD Screening with Photographer Evvy Eisen

April 17 at 7:30 pm
At the Jewish Community Library
1835 Ellis Street (at Pierce), San Francisco

Co-presented by the Jewish Community Library

Photographer Evvy Eisen created Multiply by Six Million, a thirty-minute DVD telling the stories of Bay Area Holocaust survivors, by utilizing her own black and white photographic portraits, excerpts from survivors' first person narratives, and a piano score written and performed by Nicole Milner, also a survivor. The images, text, and music are all unique to this project, which uses no live or historical footage.

Multiply by Six Million is based upon the Legacy Project, which Eisen created in 1992 to photograph Holocaust survivors in the United States and Europe and to collect their personal histories. To date she has photographed approximately 200 survivors
