Manovill Holocaust History SeminarAn in-depth study of the Holocaust and other genocides challenges students to be critical thinkers and to consider their responsibility as citizens in a rapidly changing and complex world. Utilizing the Center’s Archival collection and Library, survivor testimony, and film students engage in a rigorous examination of topics including: eugenics and propaganda, the Nuremberg Laws: Jewish disenfranchisement, life in the ghetto, "The Final Solution” and death camps, perpetrators, bystanders and victims, rescue and resistance. The course spends a significant time looking at the patterns of genocide: examining human rights abuses and genocide with the Native Americans, Armenians, in Rwanda, Cambodia, the Australian Aborigines, and Darfur. Upon completion of the Seminar, students receive college credit. Students attend free of charge. The course will begin in Fall 2008.
