Yizkor Books

The Holocaust Center regularly sponsors public programs including lectures, conferences, seminars, films and exhibitions that are open to the public. HCNC is eager to arrange speakers, films and other programs on the Holocaust for corporations, government agencies and organizations. Our partners include the Anti-Defamation League, the German consulate, San Francisco and Osher Marin Jewish Community Centers, the World Affairs Council, Istituto Italiano di Cultura, A Traveling Jewish Theatre, the San Francisco Jewish Film Festival and the Jewish Music Festival.

HCNC has a rich history of sponsoring and producing cultural and artistic programs and events. Film screenings have included Schindler’s List, The Grey Zone, the San Francisco premiere of The Pianist and Into the Arms of Strangers (Academy Award Best Documentary, 2000). Also, HCNC's 2006-2007 monthly Holocaust film series screened Paragraph 175, Imaginary Witness: Hollywood and the Holocaust, Shanghai Ghetto and Walk on Water. Award-winning plays co-presented by HCNC include Times Like These and Cherry Docs.

Music programs presented by HCNC have featured renowned klezmer band Brave Old World, the Jewish Folk Chorus, and the San Francisco Girls Chorus.

Adult Education Lectures hosted by HCNC have been delivered by Sir Martin Gilbert, Elie Wiesel, Professor Michael Berenbaum, Professor Deborah Lipstadt, Professor John Roth, Professor James Waller and Professor Anthony M. Platt.
